Colored DSLRs - are they on the way out? ... Is it now getting like the Model T Ford? (You can have it in any color, as long as it's black)

The option for Canons - was white. If you got it directly from CanonUSA - you could order red. Pentax K-30s were initially offered in a bewildering array of colors. The K-50s were more limited, but there were still a few choices. K-S1s not only were different colors, but different textures. K-S2s came in different color bases. You can still buy red Nikons - in the D5000 and D3000 series. But not the D5600. Before, there were different shades in the early 5000 series - including Bronze, and Grey, as well as Red. If you hunt around a bit, you can still find silver DSLRs ... but they are on the wane, too. KP, maybe. Nikon Df ... any others? ... Why is this happening?
At the end of the day it is probably about $$$ for the manufacturer.

Oh, is THAT what it's all about, Richard? ... Then, this would suggest Demand isn't forthcoming. Ever try and buy those old colored DSLRs? ... They're all gone!!! ... So what does THAT say about - The Law of Supply and Demand?
The K-3 - when it first came out - was offered WITH Grip - in a special Silver (Anniversary) Edition. It was all sold out within a month!!!!!

probably my old age, but I think any dslr that is any color other than black looks like a kids toy. I know they work the same way, but they just don't look right to me. silver, maybe, but the others colors, no thanks.

Until Canon hired a designer to design the T-90, all cameras were silver and black.

That would be the T90. Have you seen a silver or purple T90?
Or even a purple Contax?

They may LOOK like Kids' Toys ... but they sure don't act it ...
My D5500 has a 3.2" F/A Touch-Screen .... my D5300 has a 3.2" F/A screen and has GPS ...
My D3200 is a beginner camera with 24mp !!! ... My K-50 is also, but it's no slouch! ....
And my Canon EOS Rebel T3 - is also a beginner camera (my first DSLR) ... but, with the lens I have on it - produces fantastic images!!!
They're ALL Red!

There never was a T-90, only a T90, aka 'the tank', only available in black, I have three. Two functional, one for parts. Introduced in 1986, when I got mine....
