HELP!

I'm stumped and I'm hoping one of my Hog friends can solve my problem. I tried to post several times but haven't been successful. I keep getting this msg: There is an error processing request parameters. It then said if I continued having the problem to contact the administrator. I tried that to no avail. The administrator must be on vacation or in a sound sleep. I would really appreciate help. Thanks!

Are the images you are trying to post more than 20 mb, combined?

Size is very critical to posting. Reduce the image in size and your problem should go away.

I'm not sure Bill. That might be the problem. I'm not sure how to find out what the mp is but I'll try. Thank you SO much, Bill.

Clean your temp files. The combined size does not create a problem.

You'll have a lot more success checking the physical file size for megabytes (MB) rather than the pixel size in megapixel (MP) .... Hopefully, you're familiar with your computer to the extent you can find and display the file size.

Taking it a step further, if you process and save your file to 2048 pixels on the long side, you'll likely end up with a file that is well under the 20 MB limit was well as a file that transfers to the site much faster, regardless of your internet connect bandwidth ...

Copied from the Photo Gallery's section rules: Maximum combined attachment file size is 20MB. That's the total limit for all images attached to a single post.

Thanks for the correction.

That was a typo on my part. Should have read MB.

Thank you so much. I'm finding out I'm not as familiar with my computer as I need to be. I have tried to change the size but am not having success at this loint. If you know some simple steps to show me 'how to' I'd be eternally grateful.

Thanks for your reply, Ron. What are temp files? Just when I think I know what I'm doing on the computer, something like this pops up and makes me feel dumber than dum.

Give us some background info on your process as well as what is new tonight. Your zoo chimp images from Aug 2017 came from a D3400 and retain the original dimensions of 6000 x 4000 pixels. Are you using the same camera or something new today?

If you're on a windows 10 machine, you can quickly resize an image with this process:

1. Navigate to the image in the folder on the computer and right-click and select Edit from the menu options that appears after right-clicking.

2. If the file does open now in something called "Paint", you can select 'resize' as one of the editing options in the icons in the upper left corner.

3. Change the resize to 'pixels' and then update the horizontal (or vertical depending on the aspect ratio) and resize to 2048. The other side will dynamically update.

4. Click <OK> to change the size.

5. Then select File / Save As from the menu being sure to not overwrite the original file.

6. Try uploading the modified image file.

I'm using a MAC computer. Thank you for responding. I think I'm going to let this rest for tonight and work on it tomorrow.

Thank you. I'm using the same camera - NIKON D3400. My computer is a MAC. I still haven't been able to change the size. I really like posting images so I hope I'll be able to do that.

I don't have a MAC to provide any detailed instructions ... but when I google "Windows Paint on Mac", it would seem if you right-click an image, they have an Edit option too ... But, this may be the same "Photos" app that is going away on a MAC?

If "edit" does take you something useful on your computer, investigate the Edit or Image menus to see if you can find how to resize your image, as described earlier, to 2048-pixels on the long side. You might also right-click the image and see if you can find the file size. If you're using the same camera and shooting in JPEG, I'd think your images are still well under the 20MB limit for UHH ... and therefore your problems uploading images are something else rather than file size. If you have someone to call or there in the house, you might too ask them for help if they know more about this type of computer.

Another idea would be rather than "Help", to instead create a post with a more descriptive title in a new post asking for ideas for free image editors on your MAC ...

Thanks very much for your response, CHG - I think I have the problem solved and will be able to post successfully. Happy shooting! 📷
