Where is my Nikon D850?

I ordered a Nikon D850 from B&H on Oct. 18. It is listed as back ordered. This is not a surprise, nor is it a complaint. I am just wondering if anyone has information as to how fast these are being produced and any estimate of when it might be delivered? In the meantime, my D700 is working fine.

BH will not answer the question. I tried. I ordered my D850 at 8:30 AM EST on 8/24. I just got my camera. After the 24th a lot of articles appeared on the net, indicating this was a major change in technology and everybody seems to have placed an order. I don't expect that if your ordered in October that you will get it before the end of the year. This is like the best camera Nikon ever made. And after my short experience, I would agree.

I understand and like thousands of others share your frustration. You can Google Nikon D850 stock checker for general information. But the retailers and Nikon are really tight-lipped about expected shipments. What a pain in the ass.

I ordered on 8/28 and still do not have it.

I ordered the D850 Sep 1st and received most of it on Oct 27th. I say most of it because the battery grip, class G XQD card and card reader are still on back order.

I would say that was pretty quick. I note you did not respond to my private message inquiring about how you like the camera. But that's perfectly OK.

Very revealing. You know it might be useful if most posters who have ordered and received or not received would weigh in. This might give at least a fair idea of wait times.

First D850 I got on September 9th was SN XXXX401. Last one I got last Friday was SN XXX9233. Looks like about 10,000 units distributed across the USA so far. Next scheduled shipment to come in about November 21st.

Thanks Shooter. Very, very helpful. 10,000 units per shipment would see to guarantee long wait times given the interest in that unit. Hope I am wrong.
