The 70-200 f/2.8L II exists for low light where you could never get a useful image from the 70-300 f/4-5.6L IS. The 70-300L is a great general purpose lens, as long a general purpose does not include low light. The 70-200 excels at all photography within it's zoom range, but you do miss the longer focal length when the light is available and the subject is better captured at 250mm to 300mm.
The 70-200 is noticeably sharper. But, that does not make the 70-300 inferior. It's more of a comparison between great and the best.

You seem to be unfamiliar with Canon's lenses....
The EF 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS II USM is universally considered one of the best zoom lenses ever created. The 70-300L has been widely panned as overly expensive relative to the results delivered. The detractors are unfair in the assessments where the 70-300L is excellent in it's performance. But, it doesn't change the assessment the 70-300L is not in the same league as the 70-200mm F/2.8 L IS II.

yes i am not used to canon lens can i ask what have you use this lens i am mostly going to use this lens for zoo but there are some animals inside so i was thinking should i get the 70-200 or the 70-300 i love bokeh

I've used the 70-300L with the original 7D and have confidence in this lens & camera. I've since sold and now use the newer and longer 100-400L II that is a newer design, but much more expensive. I also use the 70-200. I love this lens, but only when I need it for indoor / low-light needs. If shooting indoors, you're best results are going to be limited to a f/2.8 or faster lens. If you find you're always at 200mm, you might find the 200 f/2.8L prime is a better and cheaper option. Regarding indoor zoo, I have a recent post in the photo gallery with images from the 70-200 lens at the St Louis Zoo.

One lens? There is not an answer and depends on how low the light is indoors and how close the animals are outdoors. I've shot more with the 70-300L in both situations and just didn't shoot with this lens where the light is too low. You have to be the judge of your needs, balancing the expense and focal length options for the situations you expect to encounter. I can coach on options such as mentioning used copies of the 200 f/2.8L and the 100-400L v1 where you might find the two lenses combined cost roughly the same as a new copy of the 70-300L. And, you'd have both situations covered although also carrying two lenses. But, the decision is yours ...

I have the 70-200 f2.8 Mk II and had the 70-300. Using with a 7DMk II and 5D Mk IV. Sold the 70-300 when I got the 70-200. Have also bought the 100-400 Mk II. I am a member of a large hunting club with 2400 acres. About 5 years ago I switched from a gun to camera. If your lense won't reach out far enough, get closer. Camera hunting is as much or more challenging than hunting with a gun! The 100-400 Mk II is a great lenses, almost as sharp as the 70-200 Mk II. If I was forced to 1 camera/lense it would be the 7D Mk II with the 70-200 2.8 Mk II and if needed add the 1.4 III.

They are both very close in optical IQ ......the 70-200 has a big advantage in light gathering aperture and for throwing the back round/foreground out of focus - which is what you want at the zoo ! Use the 1.4X with the 70-200 for added reach of 280mm @f4 or just crop and use well applied pixel enlargement.
What do I use ?? I compromise and use the older Sigma 100-300 f4 EX.
