Blll, I can only wish that the history of 1932 to 1960 was exerting a moderating influence on our current events -- but the dark side of those years is buried by deniers of the Holocaust, reappearance of neo-Nazi gangs here and in Europe, and calls for military action with nuclear weapons. One truism says that those who forget (or ignore) history are doomed to relive it. I've been posting a series of short history vignettes on UHH (General Chit-Chat topics), recounting various facets of our military occupation of Nazi Germany (1945 - 1949), including photos. If you click on my avatar and then on the topics, you'll bring up the complete list of everything I've posted. The vignettes usually include "Occupied Germany" in the topic heading. A lot of readers find them interesting. At one point, the Admin pushed my post into the Attic, but relented when I protested. Thanks for your interest, Bill.
