In the late 60's I worked for the program director of WNOE, a popular rock and roll radio station in New Orleans. Through him I was able to meet and come to know lots of the great local entertainers. I was only 19 at the time and was awed and honored to mingle with these musical giants, there was none more humble or friendlier than The Fat Man, Mr Domino.

R.I.P. Fats...you were a wonderful entertainer. You will be missed.
Loved his records in the mid 50's like Blueberry Hill and more, he will be missed but whats great his music will live on for all generation's too come!
I first remember him in 1956-7 when I was in the 8th grade, one of my favorites. One thing I especially liked about Fats Domino was that when he sang his hits 50-60 years later, he sang them the same way he did when they were first released.
That was a great local TV tribute to Fats Domino. It lasted about 12 minutes. He deserved it. Chuck Berry passed away at age 90. Chuck was from St. Louis. A Blues and Rhythm & Blues City. Jazz is mostly associated with the city of New Orleans. But Fats made it an acceptable Rock n Roll City, along with Jazz. His Rock n Roll music was just too addicting to resist. RIP Fats.
A great guy and a true music icon!! RIP Fats
