I got this lens last week, paired it with my D5300.
I updated my firmware when I got the new 10-20 wide angle.
I have found that the auto focus is extremely slow to non existent.
Besides the tightness when zooming between 100-300.
The Tamron staff at the photo show blamed my camera body.
If that is true, why does my Nikon 70-300 have the ability to track birds without any problems.
Here are some shots from a quick 10 block walk.
I'm going to my 18 mo.old granddaughter's daycare Halloween party this afternoon, lets see how it performs.
Very nice shots of the city that I love.
The person in the red coat is both captivating and disturbing. Great!
Thanks.
It sure has changed in my lifetime.
Born and raised, part of the bridge and tunnel crowd.
Did you go to the World Trade Center?

I figure the subject of the first pic has been there a while? Looks like a great day for street shots. Do the Tamron people think the AF issue is a camera firmware issue associated with the lens? 🤔
At some point in my life I will go back downtown.
I guess with my grand kids.
I was quite involved with 9/11,and I really do not have a desire to go.
The Oculus interests me,so maybe I'll go down to shoot some shots
The Tamron people at the Photo show blamed my older body,
They said that newer models of Nikon would make the lens work faster.
Who is going to accept blame on their product?

He was the cleanest of the other street people that I saw yesterday.
There is a huge population thru out our fair city.
I went to the 911 Museum once, and it was very depressing. They have one of the fire engines that was destroyed in the collapse, and people actually pose their smiling children in front of it for photos. I thought that was very disrespectful.
Sparky, nice series! I wouldn't be too quick to believe the camera is at fault. Is it possible you got a bad copy of the lens?

Not sure
I found a new firmware update,1.02, which I installed today.
