Gary, welcome to the hog. You are not alone, my friend. Most of the people here, including myself, are in our "golden years." And speaking of which, I would love to find the person who coined that phrase and wring his/her neck. There is nothing golden about these years, Har Har!!!

Welcome and you live an a great location for photography. Take a trip to Joshua tree state park when you have time. But I captured some nice images from Shelter Island of boats and people on paddle boards as will of the city at night. Maybe join a camera club. They go on outings and you will make like minded friends. Of course the Zoo is a great place to go for pictures.

join local photo clubs .in balboa park , there is MOPA ,in the building that has a photo gallery , also next to the spanish village there is a small building that house several photo clubs [ used to be a fire station ] they have open house at time on sunday . also meetup , has photo groups .
