I'm taking time to enjoy one of the longest holidays I can remember in a long time. Here are some of the pictures I took of one of two celebration weekends for the fourth of July.
10 days of spactacular fireworks and of course BOOM BOOM BOOM till 2am.

What settings do you use to take the fireworks pics?
I have a Nikon 5100.

Hi, JackieWC.
I use a Canon 7d but any camera would use about the same settings. I shoot in Bulb. My apature is from f8 and up(it varies on available light and my timing). I was using my Tamron 18-270, manual focus on the trees just below the fireworks. When shooting fireworks shot from a boat I'd focus on that boat then aim up.
Timing is a guessing measure. sometimes just a quick press, sometimes 4,5,6 seconds or more. With the monitor it's not hard to get it right after a few pics.
Then just keep shooting. Once I get it figured out I turn off the monitor for shooting and just review the shot after it happens.
More fireworks to come, so, Good luck.
