Now this is silly. Sony a6000 with Nikon 200-500 mm

For fun I put my Nikon 200-500mm lens on my wife's Sony a6000 using an adapter (cheap one). Manual focus only and hard to focus this lens. But still kind of fun. Zoomed in very hard to focus with this lens. On the D500 the lens is rock solid AF.

The a6000 sort of looks like an appendage to the lens.

That's the big disadvantage of many lens adapters - loss of auto focus. Still, it's a lot cheaper than buying a whole new set of lenses. Results probably would have been better with a lens in a more conservative zoom range.

Were these hand held shots? I use all kinds of lenses with adapters on my A6000 and get some decent results using the camera's focus peaking system. The largest lens i've used is an old Vivitar 400, with a fairly cheap Fotga adapter. The lens is a monster but super sharp when on a tripod. Just wondering. This looks way off from what i'd expect from that combination.

This was just for fun. Yes handheld. For fun I used a low cost adaptor I had and put my Nikon 200-500 on the Sony a6000. Holding it was fine but Focus was a challenge.
