Day # 13 - Date : Friday, October 27, 2017
Fairly bright morning of mixed sun and cloud just before the rain/sleet/wet snow arrived. Good time to take some photos of my regulars so I thought. However, I made a mistake of putting out a pile of peanuts on one of my low unprotected feeders (not caged) for the Blue Jays. But this fella showed up shortly after. We call him "Harold", and he is usually a daily visitor to our feeding stations. He particularly likes peanuts as you can see. Almost every day he cruises over our yard and if he sees anything interesting will land to check it out. If he does see us sitting on the deck he will approach us and beg for one of his favourite nuts. He often will take the peanut and bring it to the concrete sidewalk on which he pounds it in order to extract the nuts. Although I really prefer that he would find another yard to do his thing you must admit that having him around is a bit different from my usual crowd. But, he is one of my regulars :-)))))
I intended to show this character a little later on, but since he made his appearance this morn and posed so well, I thought this must be the right time.

Gulls have such beautiful eyes. Nice shots! Is that a peanut?

Where is here you ask. Well let me say that as I look out the window I can see a bit of white stuff in the air. Am presently residing in the great north of Canada where we will have snow on the ground for Halloween. As for the bird eating peanuts, these characters would probably eat anything they could find. Mine will also at times pick up and eat sunflower seeds but I think that is too time consuming for him.
Thanks for looking in and for the kind comments.
