DxO has bought the Nik Collection from Google, and it will continue to be free, at least for now.

I don't think, PS will ever sink!
I read they are developing a new version of Nik software.
Photoshop /Adobe will never sink ....at least in the next 50 years;-)
I for one am so happy that Nik is not dead, that I will support DoX and buy something.
.....maybe FilmPack5?

I don't it will sink any time soon but the completion is improving so you never know for sure.
Who ever thought Kodak would sink.
With the new take over, does it appear they are going to revive the stand alone application? I have not been able to get it to work with Win 10, only as a plugin with PS/LR. Now I am ending my subscription to those, I am looking for stand alone version, any advice.
See
http://nikcollection.dxo.com for more info about DxO & Nik.
The new "DxO PhotoLab" app, which replaced "DxO Optics Pro" has some Nik's features.
I'm happy for any part of Nik's revival!
PS adjustment layers are fine but U point tech is so cool!
Kodak needed the amateur market Adobe does not
DxO is talking about a new version for Nik next year. They are not saying if the new version will update all the softwares in the collection or if it will be only a specific program. It could be very possible that once the new version is out the old version will cease to have or upgrades or technical assistance.
Luminar for Windows is beginning to look as a great alternative.
Oh great a photo that I wont be able to get out of my head all day;-) ....thanks and yuck!
I use Affinity which develops RAW also. $50 from Apple site. I think it does a decent job.
