A mystery micro blob. What is it?

The flower is a miniature daisy & is only about half an inch across. I had my camera on a tripod & when I looked through the viewfinder, I could clearly see the black blob, which I assumed was just a 'deposit' that some tiny critter had left. I then got a surprise--I saw the blob move, & while I looked, it slowly 'walked' across the flower. I've never seen this before. It is heavily cropped so IQ is not good. Downloading is recommended.
A real live blob that moves. What is it?

It might be some type of scale insect, they come in some fairly bizarre forms.
We have white fluffy plant bugs here called mealybugs, but I've never seen a black one??
I don't have a clue, Earl, but it is very interesting. I'll stay tuned to see if anyone knows.

Earl, no clue but maybe someone knows.

Assassin bugs will pile the bodies of previous meals on their backs. Looks like body parts and wings to me.

The other bug is keeping out of the way! Interesting, good shot Earl.

Look! It's moving. It's alive. It's alive... It's alive, it's moving, it's alive, it's alive, it's alive, it's alive, IT'S ALIVE! -- and Earl shot it - with a camera
Whatever that black blob is, it's UGLY! But the daisy's pretty, Earl! :)

Earl, we have an insect here that mimics the appearance and the activity that you describe. It is called the Green Lacewing (Chrysopidae) who, in it's larval stage, piles debris gathered from it's host plant onto it's back. It's color will be different based on available debris. I am attaching two shots of the same species that inhabited two different trees.
The purpose of this activity is camouflage...whether it is an act of offense or defense, I don't know.
I also have attached a recently hatched adult.
Nice shots in your post!
If my posting is offensive, I apologize beforehand!
Have a nice day!
Bob
