Arromanches, FR was the site of Sword Beach on D-Day. On a recent visit there I learned about what happened after D-Day - the creation of an artificial harbor which was called Mulberry B. Relics of the harbor can still be seen there.

1. A part of the dock remains on shore. Some of the concrete blocks that made up the harbor are in the background.

Thanks - I wasn't really aware of this part of the D-Day plans until we got there.
