Suggest Nikon Coolpix A -a professional pocketable camera- sold for 1200. now used at 300. SLR sized sensor very sharp-good color fixed lens-but great in camera cropping. Love mine esp. for shooting Manually-nice viewfinder. Good high level pt. and shoot!

Just bought a used Canon G15 in mint condition on Ebay for about $300.
Awesome camera with awesome optics . . . can't go wrong! I just needed some quality images on our up-coming holiday without the weight of my DSLRs and "L" lenses.
Also it is compatible with all my Canon flashes, Pocket Wizards, etc., and has the bonus of video capability.

I have a Canon Powershot SD 980 IS which takes great pictures and fits easily in my shirt pocket. Both my wife and I wear transitions lenses in our eyeglasses and on a sunny day it is almost impossible to see the image on the LCD screen. Can anyone suggest a point and shoot camera with a viewfinder in the $300-$400 range which will fit into a shirt pocket? Thanks.
Mark

Canon Powershot A1400 HD. Its 16 Mega pixel and 5X zoom. the sole reason I purchased it was the view finder. The bonus to me is that it runs on AA batteries so I have one less battery type in my bag.

I just bought a Sony DSC-HX80 for my husband for Christmas. I charged up the battery and took some shots. Pretty decent pocketable Point and shoot with a VF. My only concern was that the buttons were very small. I showed it to him and he handled it and thought it would be fine. On sale at Best Buy $339

I have the panasonic zs60. It is heavy for a shirt pocket. I have mine on a light weight neck strap.

On my cameras which do not have viewfinders, I have been very happy using a Clearviewer. It attaches in the tripod socket and is very small. Look it up at Clearviewer.com

I have same glasses and use a Nikon P7800 with its EVF works well for me. I think it's close to your price range.

You might try Keh Camera for an Olympus XZ-1 or XZ-2 with a VF-2, VF-3, or VF-4. The viewfinder would probably have to be removed to put into your pocket, but I consider it a minor inconvenience. Also, be sure to get the barndoor lense cover.

I do like the photos my XZ-2 takes but that is one hefty piece of machinery to carry around in a pocket. It does fit in a jacket pocket, minus a viewfinder. I replaced mine with an E-PL7 which is only a little larger and heavier, but once it's in your pocket it's not much different than carrying an XZ-2 around. You are absolutely right about the barn door lens cover!

I have a Panasonic DMC-ZS40 and am very satisfied with its performance. Latest model ZS50 should be just as satisfactory.

Sony RX100 III. Used on ebay.

Maybe a bit heavy for most shirt pockets? And, may be more than necessary for most purposes. I carry mine in a belt pouch, or a cargo pant pocket.
