The December issue of Consumer Reports hit my mailbox yesterday. It has a 5 page article entitled Picture Perfect.

"It's a digital world, but many of us still enjoy framing great photos. We rate 10 photo printing services and reveal which deliver the best quality and prices."

Many will be surprised, and more than a few will disagree with CR's ratings. It's worth a look.

Consumer Reports magazine may be available at some retail establishments, or your local library.

I just checked the on-line version of C.R. and could not find this article. Hopefully they will post it soon.

My faith in CR was destroyed many years ago when the rated film cameras. The the top Nikons and Canons were not included in the group of cameras evaluated. They were not Even mentioned. How could the Canon F-1 not be included in the cameras that CR looked at. That was the end of consumer reports for me. I could never trust an evaluation by them.

A number of products that I have owned that lasted far longer than their warranty and had to be sold, given away, or donated and were still fully functional were not rated well at all by Consumer Reports, so I don’t subscribe and don’t pay any attention to CR ratings.

As their subscription base reduced and then the staff, the camera ratings team must have gone over the DXO ...
