Nice pictures, what part of the mountains did you go to?
Beautiful, love the Smokies...keep em coming Jean. Did you get to see my photos I took on a helicopter ride over the Smokies last year?
The decorations were on highway 73 that runs from Pigeon Forge to Townsend. The other shots were overlooking Gatlinburg on the overlook going across 441 to Cherokee.
I don't remember them. Maybe you can post them again.

I thought you might like seeing the Smokies from the air. I hope you do...
Here is the link to my post that contains a link to my Flickr album. The first 5 minutes of the flight was really scary, but once I got used to all the noise and vibrations, I was able to relax more. I took this flight over the Smokies just after the wildfires. The areas that are brown on the mountains are burnt areas. We flew
south from our take off spot just north of Sevierville over Pigeon Forge, then over Gatlinburg, then out over the National Park where we turned North on a path back that took us over Wears Valley and back to the landing spot north of Sevierville.

Nice photos, especially the last one.
very nice series! Love the smoky mountains.
Great set for the season!
Jeanbug, those are so beautiful. I didn't get to make my annual trek to the Smokies this year, so you have made me extremely jealous!
James it sure looks different from the air. I was going to do this the year the helicopter crashed now I'm just a chicken. I might get my nerve up one of these days.
