Where are your photos? It's the right time of year. I had my new grandson so I have an excuse. I'm still dying to get to Hawaii or Bonaire soon. :D

Just got back from what I consider the best place in the Caribbean to dive, Little Cayman Island. I have been to Bonaire, Curacao, Turks and Cacos, Dominica, Grenada, St. Thomas, Mexico, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, Andros Island, St. Martin, and Nassau and given the choice, Little Cayman is the best for Wall and Coral Reef diving. I haven't even downoaded my photos yet to work on them as I just got back from Costa Rica as well, but within the next couple of days hope to post a couple of photos. I love to see other photos as well. Looking forward to more u/w water photos as the summer continues from lots more divers as well.

Fishguide,
One place I don't see you mentioning is Saba, you were in St Martin and did not go to Saba? You missed one of the best dive areas in the Caribbean. Am looking forward to seeing more of your photos. Sound like you were on a few cruises that visited dive destinations.

Didn't get to Saba. Went to St. Barts with my wife instead. She is a non-diver so although I do go on a lot of dive vacations for myself, when my wife is along, I have restricted diving so we can do things together. So although I would have like to dive Saba, on the trip to St. Martin it wasn't in the cards. Most of my trips are to specific locations. Only once did I use a cruise ship to go from point to point. I like to go to places for a minimum of a week to dive. Just spent another 11 days on Little Cayman. Awesome dive spot.

Am very happy to see that I was mistaken about cruises. I also love the Caymans, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac are just wonderful. Have you been anywhere outside of the Caribbean and the Bahamas? Welcome to the forum.

Have dove a couple of places in the US as well. Alaska, Hawaii, New York (just had 3 photos published of the SS Oregon taken last July in Sam Warwick's book called 'Shipwrecks of the Cunard line'), PA, New Jersey, MD, VA, NC, SC, & Fla. Also the St. Lawrence Seaway in Canada. Only diving in the Pacific was Bikini Atoll (and obviously Hawaii). Just won a trip to dive Raja Ampat, Indonesia, so will be heading to the South Pacific sometime in the next 6-10 months to spend time diving as many places as I can till the funds run out as well. Retired a month ago so time is not the problem any more, just funds for diving now.

Well, I will tell you this, you are going to love the Pacific, and the Indian Oceans. These have some of the most beautiful corals and fish that exist. Again have a great time in the liquid world, what a great place it is.

Try Roatan or Dominica for your other Caribbean distenations, I've been to all you mentioned. But for the big stuff is in the Pacific, you can debate the best places, Indonesia was fantastic from large to macro, Raja Ampat to Ambon, Lembeh, etc.. but I like Solomon Islands and The Maldives after those locations. Palau, Yap. and Truk are OK, the Philippines are better than those. Take a peek at www.critter-hunter.smugmug.com

I dove Dominica last year, along with St. thomas (unimpressed with dive operation and diving) and Grenada (ripping current on Bianca C- very short dive). I am heading to St. Lucia and Barbados in December to put in some 'bubble time'. Looks like April into Lembeh for a couple of weeks and then over to Raja Ampat for a week before a vacation stop in China on the way home. My gills are beginning to dry out as I hvent been in the water since September. Looking forward to the little critters of St. Lucia.

Sorry for the delay in response, been traveling a few days getting to Kerudu in The Maldives. It's been a manta mania the last two days in mild currents, so was able to hold the D7000 up to shoot my favorite big guys. They literally brushed my head when passing over, what a treat. Sending pics to manta identification program so they can track them by their stomach markings.
