Need part

I have acquired an old Miranda Sensorex camera. It is in excellent condition, and I would like to experiment with it, but it is missing the battery cover. A web search has so far been unsuccessful, so I thought I'd see if anyone here knows where I might find one. It screws into the battery compartment right below the film rewind knob. Thanks.

You might check with hardware stores. Not sure where Orland is in California, but OSH has a lot of specialty plugs, nylon, rubber, etc., that may fit your open hole. Also check on line for them.

For $12 you are in business.

That's for the Sensomat. Mine is a Sensorex. But it may be the same part. Thanks.

An old friend! That was my first good SLR. A bad tripod leg sent it crashing to the floor. I replaced it with a Sensorex II and sold it years later. I recently bought one on ebay, just to have one again. I paid $26 for it, so you could buy an entire camera to get that cover.

I don't see this camera getting many bids.

Did you notice the description said "missing battery cover"? Truth be told I don't know why I even looked at the link. It's not like I have one of these cameras or was looking for one.

Right, and the link led to a cover (with camera attached). The cover itself does not show up in a search on ebay.

So do you plan on actually using the camera? Does it have a battery cover? Get my drift???

Actually, after determining that the Sensomat and Sensorex take the same battery, I purchased the cover on ebay via the link provided by PixelStan77 in his reply above, so hopefully I'm good to go. I also found an original instruction manual for $5.95/free shipping. Like you said, good old ebay!

The Sensomat and Sensorex use the same battery, so I went ahead and purchased it. Thanks again for your reply.

Try Brooklyn Camera Exchange. They sometimes have odd parts, or may be able
to suggest an alternative. You could also get a quote from a precision machine
shop and see how much it would cost to have one custom made.

Tempe Camera in AZ is a great place. A phone call would tell you if they have the part. (480) 966-6954

Oh, I didn't see where it led to a cover.

Jerry, looking at the images, this camera is missing the part he is looking for.
