An assassin bug (Reduviidae family). I wouldn't mess with it. They can do a painful bite (stab) with that proboscis and they can spread disease.

Most reduviids can inflict a painful bite and this species is no exception but it (unlike its cousin ... the Kissing Bug) is not implicated in transmission of any disease. Yes, avoid handling them!

When you upload a picture you will see a check box that says "(store original)". Uploading pictures this way also means that people can 'download', which really means they can enlarge the picture.

The wheel bug is a big assasin bug. I have seen a few, and although I don't mind picking up big spiders and such, I will not pick up one of these.
