Barry O'Bama - Local boy makes good.
Barrack Obama's maternal third great-grandfather, Fulmoth Kearney, left Moneygall, Offaly, Ireland for New York in 1850 eventually settling in Ohio. Barrack visited Moneygall on his trip to Ireland in 2011 and raised a pint in the local pub. The historic visit to previously unknow Moneygall has been memorialized by a new gas station dedicated to him.
At least 22 US Presidents are of Irish descent.
FYI - Gas (petrol) prices translate into approx $6 per US gallon in Ireland.
Enjoy!!
Nice shot and story. I wonder how political this will get.
Nice of them, but as it’s such a commercial memorial I guess they’re just name dropping!
How much do you actually pay for petrol nowadays?
