Something REALLY different...
Thought I'd throw a wrench into the works with these photos. I took these back in 1976. The first is a shot of the eye facets of a Black Fly. Second in a Black Widow's fang. Final is a Flea. Maybe some will find this interesting.
Gotta ask, what were these taken with? Were these on slides with cover slip?

Well, this was 40 years ago, but as I recall, yes, they were slides with cover slips. I was a grad student at the time, and I eventually got my MS in Entomology. But these were not part of any project, just my own curiosity and love of photography. Of course, as a grad student back then, I had no money for adapters or other fancy photo equipment, so these were simply with my 35 mm camera up against the eye piece on the microscope.
Well done! Necessity IS the Mother of Invention.
What's cool is that you still have the pictures.
Wow! These are fantastic, thewags!

Yes, I just found a box with some real treasures. My dad was a pressman and printed magazines like Life and Nat Geo, and he had saved several key issues, such as the Kennnedy assassination. Another item in the box was a 12x18 book, 2 inches thick, 20 pounds. It was printed in 1894, and was a complete history of the 1893 Colombian Expo in Chicago, in GERMAN! Lots of high quality photos from the Fair. And of course, some of my old photos from the 1970s.
