R.I.P. Jimmy Beaumont 1940 - 2017

Anyone who listened to Rhythum&Blues and Doo Wop music in the 50's and 60's knows Jimmy Beaumont. Born in the Knoxville section of Pittsburgh Oct. 7 1940 died in McKeesport P.A. Silky voiced lead singer of the Skyliners. Some of his many hits were, "Since I Don't Have You"(featured in the hit movie American Graffiti) "This I Swear" 1959.

These were the kids who were teenagers in the mid-fifties, about 10 years before I was. I think they were the golden years.

Very sad that we have lost and are losing all these old doo-woopers! One of the finest musical eras ever IMHO.

Thank you very much for posting this. Beaumont and the other dog-woopers were a major part of my growing up. As I get older, I love to hear the music again and the memories that go with it. RIP Jimmy.

At the dances, "Since I Don't Have You", was always a "Ladies' Choice".
