Travel Images from Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Etc.: Part 2--Between Swan Valley & Big Spring, ID
This series of images was taken on two different days--the first day being the cloudy day trip out of Swan Valley, and the second time was several days later under sunnier skies when we left Grand Tetons for West Yellowstone. The road along the western side of the Grand Tetons took us through the mostly rolling farmlands of Victor, Driggs, Tetonia, Ashton, and Island Park. I hope you'll view in download since there's so much detail in these wide-angle landscapes. Also, this post will continue as a 'reply' to include 18 images total.

Really a nice job! Very nice selections. We were there early October and entered the Tetons from Idaho Falls via your route and then into the south entrance of Yellowstone. Intermittent snow closures along the way didn't hamper us much!
Any chance you travelled on Grassy Pass Road? I love this area you were in. Most people have no idea about this side of the park. Thanks for sharing.
Here are the remaining 8 images to my post.
You may wonder why all the tattered, leaning structures? I learned how tentative and fragile their existence is when I procrastinated photographing a 'character' barn near where I live for 16 years until one day it was demolished from a storm. I missed out just because I had been reluctant to ask the owner for permission, feeling like I would be imposing on folks' privacy. So, when I can get that old barn or house from the roadside, I get it while I can.
I tried Grassy Road from Ashton last year and it was closed off. I later went in from from Flagg Ranch and only went as far as the dam because the road was so bad. I did enter the Bechler entrance and checked out Cave Falls. I was surprised that they charge for using the entrance, but we have a pass. Never saw anyone else coming or going. Worse than Moose-Wilson Road was a couple weeks ago!

Glad you like what I posted, Dave! I added the remaining 8 images after you left your comment, so may see some more scenery to enjoy. We stayed in Swan Valley Sept. 21-22, then drove along the eastern edge of Idaho on the 27th. We encountered snow showers off and on many days throughout our trip until we left on Oct. 3rd. Most of the time the low's were in the 20's and the highs in the 40's. Brrrrrr!
These are all excellent. You skilled compositions help to make every shot inviting and interesting. Beautiful scenes!

I hate to be a copy cat, but you are quite right. The views are quite fresh in my mind and the composition really struck me as well.

Although I had the information on Grassy Pass, the intermittent snow showers caused me to have concerns about going across a high pass on unimproved sections of road. Glad you enjoyed seeing one of your favorite regions posted here on UHH, Bill! BTW, I added the remaining 8 images after you shared your comment.

Thanks so much, Carol! Each time I share a trip, I wonder if I will have anything of interest to other photographers. Your affirmation is what keeps the fun in sharing.

I strongly agree with your thoughts about honoring fragile old structures. This is such beautiful country and so enjoyable to see through your eyes. Carol has it right, your compositions are something to learn from. Thanks again for sharing your work!

It helps to have some sunshine brightening things up, doesn't it?! Windmills always catch my eye--I like the way they add scale. (That is the next to last you were referring to--from the first section?) Thanks for the great feedback, Angela!
