Electric Peak from Swan Lake. Our dining room in Gardiner looked out upon the other side!
My son & daughter in law like to hike. They posted some images from
Palisade Falls, Hyalite Canyon yesterday.... Looks really cold up there. It's still in Montana though, not Wyoming...
Heading to Gardiner for a few nights next September. Your picture is making me impatient to get there!

We have stayed at many of the in park facilities, but found a really nice one in Gardiner, the Yellowstone Gateway Inn. Small dining area and attached sitting room, a fully, and I mean fully equipped kitchenette with all the niceties plus a dishwasher, oven, micro and full size fridge with ice, separate bath and separate bedroom and ample storage. A five minute walk to the town's only grocery store, post office and five miles from Mammoth Springs. We spend most of our time on Swan Lake Flats, Lamar Valley and the northern range area, so the location suits us. Getting tough to get reservations there!

I'd love to move to southeast Idaho or anywhere within a couple hours of the park, but my wife won't leave our family. I even offered to pay for annual visits!

Thank you! I could move a bit and looking to the left I had similar shots of Antler Peak area. Kathy had been further away getting a pic of a pair of swans that inhabit Swan Lake...quite appropriate and 19 degrees as the sun was rising.

Thanks much! We never tire of Yellowstone's beauty. Too bad it's 2300 miles away!
