Rained all day yesterday, and a good part of the morning, and was house-bound. Finally managed to break out just before mid-day. The first two are from the edge of Ordino; the last three are in La Cortinada, about 3km up the road.
The "chateau" and the 11th century church from earlier postings
Looking north, towards La Cortinada, on the other side of the ridge on the center-right
La Cortinada, elev: 4416, pop: 883
Late season fresh veges
1 of 3 golf courses in the country; all are pitch and putt, since there is not enough continuous level land for a full-length course
Excellent landscapes with beautiful pops of color. Very well done!
Nice work Hank. I especially like the second and forth shots. #2 is my favorite though. The composition is excellent.

Thanks! On #2, I took 10 different shots from different angles and heights (the latter is not hard here!), and finally got a good combination of the road and ridges. For the three in La Cortinada, I was with my Catalan partner (the government engages volunteers to work with non-Catalan speakers to encourage adoption of the language) and we took a stroll through town, when she was able to get a break from helping her boyfriend (big in the local music scene) set up for a concert this weekend in a 15th Century historical home - would've taken pics of that, but the lighting didn't cooperate and didn't have my flash - so I was in snap shooting mode. Hopefully the light will be better this weekend!

Here's the download version if you're interested.
BTW, you can see I'm significantly above the house in the foreground; I took a couple of pics at street level (which didn't work...). Gives you an idea of the terrain here.

I don't know what the other 9 shots looked like, but this was worth the effort.

Thank you for posting the original Hank. It is exceptional IMHO.
Beautiful and interesting images, Hank! Well done!
