hi all i was just wondering if any one else has had an issue with the sigma sport 150-600 .. mine is only a little annoyance really ... on about 4 or five times i have had my OS or image stabilization stop working , now i have it set on the sigma dock to Dynamic view mode on both C1 and C2 i also have them both set to fast af Priority mode ... now why i say its minor is because if i hook it back up to the dock and reset it all works again fine .... has any one else come across this .. lens would be out of warranty .. in the field if it does it to me i just go for higher shutter speed till i get home or hook on another lens ..

Unless someone has a solution, I would contact Sigma. Although it is out of warranty, this should not be happening. They might have a simple DIY solution.

thanks Jerry , contacting Sigma in Australia is a nightmare have done this a couple of times , and if it should need repairs it has to go from one side of Australia to the other , They only have one service center for all of Australia , last one i sent back to them was a 500 some years back gone for nearly 3mths and i was paying for repairs to that one lmao ... i read of the service people get in the USA and dream if only .. you lot are spoilt over there .... but i might try sending off an email see if any one responds but i wont hold my breath lol lol

No, never had that problem. Of course I bought the Nikon 200-500 which has given me NO PROBLEMS over THOUSANDS of exposures. Good luck with your lens though. It is maddening when a lens acts up in the field, you could miss something important that will never happen again, that's why I shoot only Nikon. I never miss an important moment.

Hey Gawler, sounds like the lens will need repair. I've had a Sigma 150-600C for over a year now and have had no such issue with it. I've used it on all my Nikon bodies (D3300, D90, D500 and D810) all with no issues. As a quick possible fix; have you cleaned the contacts on both the lens and camera body you're using? Do you have more than one camera body? If so; does the lens behave the same regardless of which camera you use?

I have that lens and found the AF to be slow when shooting football. However, I never tried C (custom) settings. I'm not even sure if I still have the owner's manual. Can you someone me more about that, or where to learn how to use custom settings?

I'm sure the OP appreciates you rubbing it in his face. Geesus Bill, have you no shame or compassion?

Did you also purchase the Sigma USB dock? You will need one in order to access the custom settings of the lens using the supplied software. The dock is also how to dial in the lens for any front or back focusing issues. It's a tedious time consuming process but well worth it when compared to the limited adjustments that can be made using in camera lens adjustments. The usb dock and software allow for a total of 16 adjustments (4 focal lengths x 4 focal distances) as compared to the one or two that can be done in camera if your camera supports such adjustments.

Good luck and happy shooting.

Thanks Jim lol , i cant afford a Canon 600 lens or i would have brought one lol , its not a major issue really as i have Canon 7d2 canon 6d and both the sigma 150-600 sport and the sigma 120-300 f2.8 with a 1.4 convertor as well as a few other lenses , and the sigma sport works great most of the time , i mostly have both lenses with me .. maybe i should try crowd funding for a canon lens LMAO

Yes so did i but if you have the USB dock ( not expensive ) you can set the custom settings as well as the focus if you have the time , i spent hours doing my 120-300 all 16 settings and i have to say was very happy with the results ... but it took hours lol ... but you have the choice of 3 settings for both focus speed and OS , for sport or birding just set at the fastest level ... you can also set the distance the lens can look for focus so if you know your sport ground is between two distance max and min can be set , which will speed up focus times as well .... it will also update software as it becomes available ... well worth the money mine cost about $80 Australian

Related question. I recently got the 150-600 C. It also has the custom options. When sliding the switch to a custom option, does that override how the standard toggles are set or do they need to all be in an off position?

It's an override, no need to change any other switch settings.
