You got the most from a disappointing fall; great shots. A dry August has resulted in little east coast color--mostly brown leaves. We spent a disappointing color weekend in Shenandoah National Park Oct 11-15, but great hiking weather. A bad weekend in the mountains is better than a great day at work.

We've had lots of moisture here...so I really dont know what the problem is.
Thanks for stopping by.

Very nice photos, I particularly enjoyed the detail in your water shots. Lots of water action. The other photos were stunning as well

While there is no bad trip to the Smokies, we went last weekend and were a little disappointed. There was no color in the lower elevations, and tropical storm Nate stripped most of the trees in the higher elevations the week before.

Yes, there was a tropical storm warning in the Smokies.

Makes you think with all the politicians denying climate change that the climate said "hold my beer for a minute".

But I did take a few shots. The prettiest part of the trip was a detour driving home along Junaluska Road in the Nantahala area.
While there is no bad trip to the Smokies, we went... (show quote)

the first shot if gorgeous...beautiful lighting. the mountains are beautiful to me in any season.

Just got back from the smokies myself and you were right about the color. You never know from year to year but this year was one of the worst I've seen in a while. It rained the first 4 days I was there so you couldn't even see the top of the mountains. It did make for some good water shots though. Hope you have more to post. Your shots are beautiful.
