Trying out a new lens. Sony 24-240. Not getting sharp images. I know that I probably need something in 300-400 range for this type of photography, but still... Using a tripod. Camera Sony A7 . The second one was shot with Nikon d810 using Nikkor 50mm 1.8

Can't speak to this lens, since I don't own it. But, are you just trying it out? Or have you bought it? If the former, try out the 70-300 or the 70-200/4 - both slightly more expensive. Much more expensive is the new 100-400 GM.

I bought it, but I can return it. I will try it for a few more days . The thing is I was trying to find a telephoto that is not too heavy and not too expensive(silly me), and doesn't require an adapter for sony e-mount camera. There are more choices in manual only versions

Beautiful! What does he do with the paddle when he starts to surf?

He keeps it and might use it as a rudder. Not a surfer, but have seen some doing this. Unlike traditional surfers, the paddlers can remain upright all the time. As for whether it's more efficient, no clue...

Thanks. Yes, I have seen lots of standing paddlers, but not in the surf.
