Interesting, but don't take this in the wrong way, but the shallow D o F bothers me. A bit too much of that. I would have stopped down much more or better yet shot a focus stack. I'm really getting into focus stacking these days. I would have used my 35mm Macro lens.
If the leading edge with the sepals and stem were OOF and just the trailing edges of the far petals OOF it would be great! But I'd like to see the full central 3/4 of the rose in sharp focus.Oct 15, 2017 05:43:22 #

great shot, good use of DOF and I like the prominence of the leaf to bottom left.

I agree with these comments, but as you said yu were just playing around.
The out of focus areas could of been lessened but the very soft effect was not too bad, Did you like the results?
Thats all that matters really.
