Lovely, you make me want to hop in the van and head east for the glorious colors of Fall!
I took these this week and will be busy taking photos of the dogs next week for Halloween cards.
In 1966, my assignment was to simulate photographs of our planet as seen from near-outer space -- and shine a spotlight on various major markets for a series of advertisements to appear in international business publications. There should not be any seams or printing or other artifacts which would spoil the illusion. I couldn't imagine where I might find such a globe, so I called the Rand McNally mapmakers and OMG, they had a monstrous globe in the lobby of their headquarters, and it met my requirements to a "T"!!! And there was no charge for photographing it as long as their name was printed under the photo in the ads. As I recall, the globe was about 9 or 10 feet in diameter. I used a 4"x5" view camera with two flood lights and a spotlight. These are two of about six photos. The art director was delighted. The client was an American air freight company. At that time, photos from outer space were very new so they got a lot of attention for the client.

I'm out of town for the moment but wanted to participate anyway. Don't have too many photos on this device! This is one of our backyard visitors - and my personal favorite!
A very nice capture of the Fox Zudith.
