my nikon fg chrome camera.
I have a nikon fg camera purchased in 1984.Has been stored till now.Found with film and batteries still loaded(took them out)it looks clean.the lens needs to be cleaned, that looks easy enough. Also have a nikon speedlight sb-15,looks clean also.a nikon lens 50mm1 f/1.8 series E.a rokunar uv 52mm coated filter,is this a good start to shoot? Will i have trouble finding film and in getting film developed/Is this camera obsolete?Any input is greatly appreciated.Have a great day.
Should be a great camera. Film is still readily available online but might be harder to get locally. You can always get it from b&h. Developing should be available lots of places
Hey Chris,Thanks for the reassurance and imfo.I'll check it out.
Just be careful if you buy black and white to get Kodak BW400Cn not tri-x or anything as you will have trouble getting those processed
Great tip i'll put that down in my notes.Have a good one.

Hi George
I do't mean this in a bad way, but that camera is not a good camera to start shooting with in todays world. If you just want to play and see if it still works, great. But the cost of film and developing and then have a CD made to get the shots on the computer. I don't even play with all my old Nikons any more. I made plastic cubes to put them in and they are on my book shelves now. I tried to keep them alive up until 3 years ago, but digital was so easy!! :)

Good morning George. I still have my Canons, film type, AE1, A 1 , and all associated lenses, very nostalgic, but getting film is no big deal here in US, but the processing-yuk! Some places don't do the CD, others don't do all types of film. So thanks to digital. Even the cheapest is now better than film. Don't get me wrong, I still use film once in a while, but my EOS Mk Ii thou heavy is way better, then the cheapie Lieca V Lux 1 and Lux 2 do a fantastic job for a crop box

The FG is a good camera, I have a chrome and a black, also an F3. The FG is a good camera if you want to shoot film, but digital is so much easier and no film to deal with. I still use a Pentax 6X7 film camera but it is so expensive to use that it's almost not worth it.
Keep your FG but think about getting a good digital camera, there are lots of point & shoots that can get you started.
Hi Irv I hear what you'r saying.I'll have to store my nikon and may be in 20 yrs. it will be an antique !.Still i may play with it if a special occasion comes up and a back up digitol so i don't miss a good shot.thanks
After noon Cajun lou. You'r right the processing makes it a pain.I have a canon power shot A2200 and for my purpose, for now is great.
Hey DickC I know it cost good money for the FG,to bad i never used it before now.I'll keep it for usage now and then.have a great day.
