You know the old shuffle, right? ... Are the tap dancers finally expiring, or will they live on for another decade or two?

I'll go back to film instead.
Those bodies that can't rock & roll are gonna have to get a whole lot better before I go to one of those crappos!!

I don't think they will expire any time soon although a high res Nikon mirror-less with a good adaptor would knock my socks off. Nikon is loosing ground sales wise...I don't know what they are thinking.

The D850 is great for the consumers that can afford it but it will certainly cut into D5 and D500 sales. I wonder if that was well thought out.

I have my mirrored camera and keep using it. I don't care what others use.

The D850 is for the max res folks, who, heretofore - flocked to the 5D S / 5D S R in droves ....

D5 and D500 (and D7500) only have 20MP, you know, Joer ....

Mirrorless is still relatively in its infancy I know many here swear by their mirrorless cameras but they still have a long way to go before or if they become the norm. My thoughts are that they may survive, but there has been other camera technologies that faded with time mirrored cameras have been with us for ever or what seems so at least because it works. I would like to see them alive and well side by side but time will tell, I will be sticking with mirror dslr's for the remainder of my life I do not like a lighter camera I want one with some meat on it,
I was happy when film cameras started to get larger for the consumer it just feels more comfortable for me.
I think possibly mirrorless is taking the place of the point and shoot and bridge camera, due to the fact that they have sensors that are larger and are more prosumer than the average consumer products. Just my opinion but time will tell.

Those EVFs are kinda neat ... like watching TV ....

But, once you do ... quietness wins ....

Not sure that people flocked to the 5Ds in droves. That camera is aimed at a pretty specific market. Canon is currently working on a 120mp camera. And as we have discussed before, the smaller sensor of sports and action oriented cameras is a direct result of their high fps. There is a different market for those cameras.

The D850 is geared to a different market than the D5 or D500. That's nothing new. Canon is using the exact same strategy with it 5D Mark IV, 1Dx Mark II and 7D Mark II.
