Hi all. It's time to replace my old Canon S9000 which is not producing acceptable prints anymore. I have cleaned the heads several times and the first couple prints are good but the next day, the color is all off. I print mainly for my own use and family. Would be nice to find newer printer that used the same BCI-6 ink cartridges. Any recommendations?

Ask Canon which of their current printer's use your BCI-6 ink carts.
Call Canon and see if you can work a deal with unused cartridges. I did that with Epson. The cost of a new printer from Epson was identical to that at Costco, but they credited me for the unused cartridges. Good luck!

You can probably get the Pro-100 for a good price with their rebate. It's been selling for $100 - $150.
Here it is for $129.

Canon Pixma Pro-100 for $129, as stated above.
Currently Canon is also running a free paper and shipping deal when you spend at least $30 on ink. Two cartridges are $34.
Thanks all,
I looked at the Pro-100 at Best Buy yesterday and they had several recently printed pictures there that looked really good. They didn't mention any rebates but I see now that there is a hefty rebate on this printer at B&H, My favorite place to shop camera gear. Does anyone have any comments on their Pro-100? The tanks are a bit pricey, any experience on how many prints I could expect from a fresh set of tanks?

I've been using Epson printers since they were an 8pin dot matrix and they make a vey good printer for the money. I've got a 3520 now and it's got amazing capabilities for the price.

How much do you want to spend and what quality are you looking for. Also, what would be the maximum size print you would want to produce? Without more info, my best advice would be to stay away from multifunction units and look for a printer specifically designed to print photos. I prefer Epson, and use an Epson P800, but Canon are also very good. I would not recommend HP for photo work unless it was very high end. Best of luck
Yes, the online Epson Store has good prices and sometimes has a sale on the previous model vs. the current one. I got my scanner for half the retail price, because a newer model was coming out soon. >Alan
