I have to wait about one month for my Nikon D850 to come in. I have switched from Canon and I realize there is going to be a great new learning curve using the Nikon. I have read various articles and sites, but what I am looking for are Pros and cons, likes and dislikes of the D850 from people who actual own the camera and have used it in various ways. Thanks. Vince.

I'm not an owner, but I'll be interested in hearing about their experiences.

T here are no two photographers the same. Just remember, the photographer takes the picture, not the camera.

If, you have ordered the D850, would you, depending on the responses, cancel the order?

No. Just thought I pick up some clues or ideas on what to look out for. Good or bad.

Just a thought, but while you are waiting its arrival have you downloaded the manual from Nikon and started studying it? Bet you will form a lot of likes and dislikes yourself while reviewing the camera manual.

Have fun learning your new camera. I envy you!!

Got some inside info on ship dates you want to share? I ordered on Sep 1st and, as of today, the status is, "It will be here when it gets here."

Wow! I called B&H just to check their timeline and they said there next shipment is around October 29th. I don't know who you are ordering from but I would not have like their answer. I am not ordering from B&H. My local shop is expecting a delivery about the same time.

Got mine 2 months earlier than the initial estimate from Amazon
Love all the new features, tilting display, focus peaking, in camera slow motion are just a few that I have used so far
The increased resolution is nice too

Download the manual and start learning... The Nikon menu system and terms are probably different from what you are used to with Canon.

Best,
Todd Ferguson

My local retailer gave me an honest answer. Even if they know when they'll receive more, they don't know how many. Have you asked B&H or your local shop how many they're getting or how many other people are in line ahead of you?
