This is a male Common Hawker that I spotted resting in the undergrowth. He decided I was getting too close with that second shot and flew!

You certainly nailed him before he took off, David. Excellent shots, especially the last one.

I thought the first one was pretty close. The second photo is in a whole different league. Nicely done.
