I think that most reasonable people would see a gun as a necessary tool on a ranch. However, you would be able to still do everything you need to do with your gun if it was registered. I also believe gun owners should be required to keep track of their guns. Bad guys get guns because good guys don't keep track of them.

Now you're re-qualifying your response as you ran out of ammo trying to fight against our rights.
The argument that we don't need our guns has run its course with you as the loser.

Now you bring up registration as a cure for the bad guys getting them.

As I said before, you have no logic to any of your arguments or you wouldn't have to keep changing the arguments.

I am a gun owner/user. Rongnogno asks what am I afraid of. I am afraid of coyotes k*****g my calves and/or foals. I posted a sign saying "no coyotes". It didn't work. I yelled at them to stay out. That didn't work either. I shot one and put his head on a fence post. That worked.

I am afraid of someone coming on the ranch and helping themselves to my livelihood.

I am afraid for the life and wellbeing of my wife.

Rongnogno said "The argument that guns don't k**l, people do is flawed." It is not flawed. I challenge you to show one case when a gun shot someone without the help of a person.

If you really believe that people who own guns are "fools, i***ts, morons, and criminals" then why do you attack them so vehemently. You are either a brave warrior or you must have balls like basketballs.

You say. "The question is: Is there a need to hunt? The answer today is a definite NO." Wrong, Rong! See above.

I follow the law and you don't like it so you attack me. Smooth move exlax.

First let me say that I am a gun owner. 3 .45s, a 9mm, .38, and.380. I am also 77 years old—nearly 78—and if I could revisit any moment, any time in my life when I needed a gun to protect myself, and take a gun with me to that moment, I would have nowhere to go.

I lived 30 years is suburban Washington DC, working as a musician (meaning being downtown, ending my workday somewhere between ten PM and 2 AM) and never during that time, or any other time in my life, have I needed a gun or have I wished I had a gun to defend myself. Never.

I sometimes carry, but I also wonder why I do it. I have never seen a need for it.

And you think a .45 would be appropriate for such game?

And you have the right to do so.
You don't have a right to limit my rights or try to justify what you think I should or shouldn't do.

Really? Moose? My uncle chased off a moose with a ping pong paddle. It's true but I realize moose can be quite dangerous.

Primary danger of moose is hitting one in a car, where they fall through the windshield, and the two of you share the passenger compartment together.

A grizzly would be a genuine danger, probably requiring a long gun.

No, but a large caliber semi-auto rifle would be. Remember, I'm talking about surprising an animal like a mother bear with cubs....

Guns are like parachutes. If you ever need one and don't have one, you will probably never need one again.

Screamin Scott - No photograph anywhere in the world is worth the loss of life of a single animal. Animals' demeanor can be controlled if someone has the patience and will to do so. Human hotheads shouldn't be anywhere near animals tame or wild.

So, people shouldn't take photographs of any natural scenes if there are animals that reside in the area ?

The same people blame their alcoholism on the bottle. I've never had a bottle that jumped up off the table and coerced or forced me to guzzle its contents until I was a slobbering mess.

For the last 77 years and eight months, I haven’t needed a gun or a parachute. I understand, running a ranch is a different matter, and I’m not advocating for others, but nothing has come up in my life walking DC streets way after dark.

I take it you don't live near Anacostia then. Or haven't spent any time there over the years.
