First time I've seen Kelvin used in testing - I'm sure its frequently done and I just haven't come across the site with the Kelvin testing

If I had more money than I knew what to do with the D850 would be for me.

The following comment in the test surprised me:

<<The dynamic range of the Nikon D850, when tested in accordance with ISO standard 15739, is smaller than some competitors’ and a little less good than the Nikon D800.>>

This seems at odds with the DXO Mark's tests and if true would reduce the camera's appeal for landscape photography which is my use for a dslr.

Not too surprising - more megapixels in a given area = smaller photosites = less dynamic range. I would not let that deter me from selecting this camera for any genre, especially landscape. HDR can be simulated with exposure bracketing and stacking, ESPECIALLY for landscape. Also the keyword is "a little less". In practice, you would not notice the difference, especially with prints - printers cannot approach the dynamic range anyway of most DSLRs. Remember lab tests are lab tests, hyper-critical sometimes and splitting hairs which in practice don't have any import.
