I have almost zero budget for a digital camera, and I was wondering if anyone had a digital camera and lens that they don't want that they might consider selling me for very reasonable price. I could oil paint from your favorite picture for free. I'll send you pictures before I'll ship it - to make certain that you want it. My website =
www.cathypepin.com. I did have a nice gallery of all my work, but Apple took it down, and disputed with me the due date of the annual fee. So my website with Godaddy.com is very, very small.
Hi GalaxyCat,
I see we're neighbors, I'm located in the Concord NH area. Welcome to the forum, it's a good place to learn from. As for a cheap digital camera there are many options available online from new/old stock, refurbished and used gear. I don't have anything available for sale my self, I tend to not sell gear once I've acquired it. Check out places like Amazon, eBay and KEH for new and used gear, I'm sure you'll find something that's in your price range to get started with. Good luck and happy shooting.
I have a 10d and lens. Battery. Grip.

Please post some examples of your oil paintings in the gallery.
Cathy, your creative work is beautiful. I am sure you will be a great photographer.
I just bought a new camera and my Olympus EPL-1 (mirrorless camera) is not going to have as much use as it did before. If you have an interest in mirrorless cameras, a great starter camera like the EPL-1 should be all you need for now. I could sell you the camera, kit lens and accessory viewfinder for a reasonable price much more reasonable than buying a good point and shoot camera nowadays.
If you are interested get in touch with me through a PM and I will send you pictures and discuss the price.
I have a Nikon d70. I will include a Nikon 50mm 1,8 lens.
Will sell for $50.00 plus $10 for shipping.
Please respond.
If I hear nothing from you, I will take that as a no.
Have a great day.
Edd
Edd, that is a very nice offer you've made the lady! It's members like you that keeps me coming back to this site! Thanks for being such a nice guy!
Yes, I am interested. I sent you private message.

Thanks. The gallery cannot hold pictures of oil paintings. I did it once, and the post was moved to "Chit Chat."

Here's the truth: 3 people here have offered me a camera for shipping or low price. I am going to accept all 3. Why? because I am just learning, and since I am not paying for 5 rolls of film to be developed I have enough to send cash thru the mail, or PayPal. I am not trying to be deceptive in any way. Please see it thru my point of view: I desperately need a digital camera, and I hope I can have success with these. I am not hiding anything. I am very grateful, and I love oil painting from photos so if anyone wants me to oil paint from their favorite photo, let me know. Like I said, my website =
www.cathypepin.com. It shows one oil painting of Clint Eastwood, for example, so you can see what a great portrait oil painter I am.
Hmmm.... let me mull this over. I'm not sure this sits well with me. You ask for help and get a very generous offer from one of our members. Then you have THREE camera rigs offered to you, virtually free. And now, you're going to snag all three of them?
If your conscience will allow you to do this, then it's on you. Personally, I would chose the one I wanted or I thought would suit my needs and leave the other two for some other needy members.
I have a very nice Pentax Kx that I had considered offering you for FREE. I'm glad I reconsidered.
Just my .02 cents.
I'm very sorry you feel this way about me. Are all 3 going to turn against me now? I'm worried now. I'm not an evil or greedy person. What if I chose only one, and the deal fell thru? I didn't know that I was in competition with other needy members. If I was deceptive, that would be different. I'm trying to acquire a digital camera because my DH's Canon EOS 620 (film) is not working out. There isn't a way to remotely trigger the shutter button, and I have been very shaky with the camera. I don't even want to develop the 5 rolls of film that I have taken. I focused on a tree with the timer, and ran out to stand by the tree, but I know I made a huge mistake, where I focused and pointed the camera was probably waist level, so I might have pictures with my head cut off. I'm having a very bad time with my DH's film camera. I'm very, very sorry.

You've been forthright in this and maybe better off WITHOUT 2 cents from someone that DIDN'T OFFER YOU A CAMERA. Just my $0.02, HUH?
