A message from the section "manager".

Hi Gang!

This section is just getting started and I am pleased with the number of new subscribers that have singed on.

As per the forum's policy, as manager, I am responsible for promoting the section and that's why I have made various announcements as to our activities and upcoming tutorials both here within the section and elsewhere on the forum.

One minor problem that i have noticed is that folks are posting GOOD questions and comments in theses announcements and I have attempted to provide answers in response to theses questions. Some of theses conversations have turned into interesting threads. Problem is, the information contained therein gets scrolled away and is lost to other subscribers who may have found them interesting.

My own particular style of answering technical questions works like this: I like to address my answer directly to the OP but more importantly, I try to provide an answer or solution that would be of general interest to others as well. Some of my posts kinda turn into mini-tutorials. Hopefully, this will draw more folks into the conversation and create more of a workshop or round table environment in this section.

So...my point is- I am still a rookie manager and until I find a better way of isolating tutorials or perhaps creating new tutorials based on the questions that show up in my announcements and provide links, PLEASE check out the announcements for hidden information. Right now, in the announcement of the upcoming tutorial on product photography of highly reflective objects there is a "hidden" tutorial on POLARIZING filters.

I have noticed a lull in the activity here in the last few days. It is probably due to some of the tragic events and natural disasters that have been ongoing in the last little while. Whether or not any of us or directly or indirectly affected, it is natural and compassionate that we all take time out to reflect on all of this chaos and tragedy, help however we can and hope and pray for healing and better times.

Please stay safe and healthy out there.

Sincerely, Ed

My problem is that my "day job" is seriously busy at the moment and consumes the majority of my waking hours. Drawbacks of being experienced and caring about the customer.

I do read each and every post here and eagerly looking forward to putting the teaching into practice.

You state to check out the 'announcements'. I'm not exactly sure of what you mean? I'm also not sure of how to not lose a specific post that has information in it that I want to keep handy.

Tikva!

My point was, at least for the time being, just check out some of the promotional or announcement posts that seem to take on a life of their own to see if there is any interesting or useful conversions going on there. Hereafter, if I find an interesting question or conversation in one of theses posts, I will write a separate post or tutorial to address or accommodate it and title it properly so folks can choose to read into it if they wish.

Thanks for asking!
