It seem I not having any luck in selling the camera, so let see what I can do having it repair. The problem is that there is pin holes in the curtain, not the whole curtain but only part of the curtain. I don't have any pictures which show the pin hole, I can the pictures. I need some one who has working on and fix cameras with this problem. Send note by Private Message, thank you.

Your camera is not worth fixing, any curtain replacement is over $200 that is if you can find anyone. If you have a lens that would be saleable, the body no. Working Canon RFDR bodies at our swap meet sale for about $75.

I wish I knew what you are talking about Quinn. A Canon IV Sb???? I have no idea what that is. So I wonder how Blacks knows what that is. I know canon makes a 5D Mark IV and if the curtain is bad on that camera I'd say yes, it's worth having it fixed. That camera is very valuable and worth the $400 or so to have fixed.

By the way, how'd you get holes in the curtain? Shooting the eclipse?

How many pinholes? I had one in my Canon L2's shutter. I repaired it with black fabric paint. You have to extremely careful when doing this. You might want to try selling it over at Photorio, formerly APUG as UHH is far more digital focused

1950s. They started out as Leica based designs but with Canon innovations. Later in the 50s Canon changed the design. they are high quality cameras.

Thanks for the information, So much for that idea. Use the camera as a paper weight or dump it in a local auction.

Dump it in a local auction with full disclosure about the problem?

Quinn, I’m sorry if I missed earlier posts on this camera. Are the shutter pinholes the only problem. Please PM details. Thank you. Bill

Interesting article. Those Canon cameras existed in the early 1950s. Way before my interest in photography.

Some how I can't send noted by PM? So to answer your question. When I got the camera, I did not known about the pin holes, after I got the pictures back did I found out about the pin holes. I destroy the pictures and neg. What I remember about the pictures with pin hole .If you were looking at the pictures, the pin holes were on the left side of the picture. As for the rest of the camera, every thing work fine. The lens I use with the camera was a Canon 135mm 1:3.5 lens. No problems with the lens.
