Just one point.... I recommended you study Ken Rockwell for information. There really are many lenses (older and new) you will come across and sometimes the cost is really a great deal. I know of no better reference than the information you will find at kenrockwell.com on almost any lens you would want to see a good technical review on and how it compares to other similar lenses before you spend your money. This goes for Canon or Nikon. Also, you can get very detailed reviews of the most recent cameras and older models... and easily decide if you want to spend $1250 for a new D7300 or maybe $700 for a D7200... Ken also offers good charts like spreadsheets to see the differences in a glance comparing several models. I doubt you will find a better source of "direct experience" in use and a high level of technical knowledge" in figuring how to get the most bang for your buck than referencing Ken Rockwell. Usually, he has bought and used everything he reviews both Canon and Nikon and knows well what he is talking about.... that is what he does for a living.
Just one point.... I recommended you study Ken Roc... (show quote)

Good god man ,get a hold of your self ,you can get much better info on any photo site for free , no one ask for hand outs like Rock well, , they are there for the picking , if your sucked into Rockwell sobbe it

I’ll be brief. Ben Stonegood is a smart aΖΖ know-it-all who makes his living begging from his readers while he is worth approximately $2.3 Million. The Jim Baker of photography. Anyone who tells you that the “P” setting on a mode dial means “Professional” is a few cards short of a full deck.

If you still have the K1000 and lenses, you can use the lenses on the Pentax K1.
Pentax now have a great range of lenses and are adding more and more.
Personally, I would opt for the Pentax K1 or the Pentax K3 Mark II more reach
with the cropped sensor. Both are excellent cameras.

Actually being a Pentax shooter with K-5,K-3 and K-1 if he was wanting a crop sensor i would recommend the KP or wait for K-3 replacement the KP actually out performs the K-3II especially in low light

Wasn't that ridiculous, when I seen that. P. Is for pro, it's about as bad as his pictures are , every camera he talks about is the only one he uses, he shot his whole trip to New York with a canon point and shoot , I guess he forgot ,the next time he mentioned it
It was a different camera ,

There's also the fact that this poor guy who wants your contributions to help feed his starving family is worth $2+ million!

I was interested in either the Canon T6i or the Nikon D5600. For a couple of dollars more I could get T7i so I thought about that for a while. This weekend I purchased a D7200 with a 70 - 300 lens. It should be delivered sometime this week. I can't wait to try it out. Thank you to everyone for your imput. 😎😉

Relax... don't be so fast to condemn a website you may not know much about. Rockwell maintains a high level of expertise and knowledge for a living and does a great job in laying out the necessary data that the majority of people would require to make a purchasing decision. Since I have shot professionally for many years I am in the position to judge such things. I have recommended Ken Rockwell to scores of people who want to know how much camera they need and whats the best bang for the buck used or new. I have never found his advise to not be "right on" and therefore recommend his website. If you don't want to send him some money on paypal, its not required. I feel the advise and "comparisons" he supplies are great resources for most people trying to figure out what equipment to buy within their personal budget.

Have a nice day.
