So, I've been charged with converting a bunch of VHS and VHS-C cartridges. I have a converter (someone gave me) that converts to ASF files. I've been converting, but not watching carefully, so have 1 min to 10 mins of air time at the end. Also, some are multiple files/events on the same tape.
What is a good software tool to trim the excess off the end or to split the ASF file into multiple files?
Since I'm doing this for a family member, don't want to spend a lot of money. Free software would fit in my price range!

I use Avidemux for trimming and splitting video.
It's free and simple to use.
