I just got back from a trip to Croatia. As a side note, it is a beautiful country and I would recommend it to anyone.
I saw thousands of tourist and most had cameras. It seemed to me that the types of cameras fell in to 4 categories
and they were divided pretty even. 1- Point & Shoot 2- Consumer level DSL 3- Pro Level DSL and Smart Phones.
Bottom line... it seemed that most people enjoy taking photos when traveling.
My second finding was that of my 2 camera ( Nikon D750 and my 2 week old Fujifilm X-T2 ) I kept going over and over to my new
Fuji X-T2. It takes great pictures and it is small & light. Have a great day and Go Dawgs!
Do we get to see some pictures? Were you on a tour, or just a DIY visit?
Congratulations on your purchase of the Fujifilm X-T2! Enjoy!
Smart Phones i.e. mobile devises now dominate the image scene in my market... And for good reason, they are ubiquitous and provide invaluable connectivity... There IQ continues to rise at a far faster rate than other formats... And best of all they have a user friendly interface...
Amazingly they have empowered the populaces to share their experiences in real-time especially on social media such as the highly popular Instagram... There is little doubt in my mind that moving forward mobile devices will virtually replace all other imaging devices... it's only a matter of time...
...The times they are a changing... Bobby Dylan
Thank you for sharing Bird Dawg.
I wish you well on your journey...

It sounds like you had a good trip and enjoyed your cameras. If I took such a trip, it would be with my Sony A6000. The D750 would be resting at home. : )
I look forward to your pictures. Did you know we have a member there.
I too just returned from Croatia with my X-T1 (didn't see you though). Biggest problem from a photography perspective was getting high enough to take photos over the heads of the two or three thousand day trippers per ship who disgorged from the cruise liners each day. Off to Venice with my X-T1next week. Thank goodness there's no tourists there....
