I have a Rebel 450 D and when I shoot in continuous mode the initial burst gives me only 2 shots before it goes into continuous mode. The number 2 is displayed at the bottom right of the viewfinder. I cannot find any information on how to increase the # of shots in the burst.I was wondering if it might be the speed of the card I am using.
Welcome to UHH. Do you use class 10 SD cards? They are the fastest writing cards unless you go pro cards.
If the card's write speed is too slow, the camera's buffer will fill up and the camera won't shoot until it is cleared. Shooting raw or TIFF can cause this as the files are larger than JPEG.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll pick a faster card.
Before purchasing a faster or different class card you may want to check the specs to see which cards will work in your camera.
http://pct1.sandisk.com/ProductList.aspx?DeviceID=1927 Make sure you have your camera set on A1 servo vs single shot to take advantage of the faster frame rate.
The variables are, whether or not you shoot RAW, or JPEG images as well as the usual suspects, exposure, etc.
It should do much better if you turn off high speed noise reduction.
Are you keeping the shutter release button down?
