I have used Picasa 3 for a couple of years now and find it's excellent and have had no problems with it. I do most of my PP in photoshop CS2 but always open Picasa for bulk straightening and cropping (it's easier and quicker) :)

I have Picasa installed on my computer but I rarely use it for editing photos. It is IMHO a software without finesse. I use it primarily for a transfer site. Google provides a storage with accessed with Picasa that is great for transferring large files of images. I use it primarily to send 100s literally of images to my family and occasionally to a client. I create a large unlisted file and then send the access code by email to all the people I want to have access to the images in the file. They can view, download and print full size images as they see fit.
I belong to a school bus conversion site that I keep photos of my efforts to convert a school bus to a motor home. I share these images on occasion with other members of the site who are interested. I'm enclosing a link for demo purposes

I've spoken with numerous people who didn't know they had this capability with Picasa.
I hope this will help and enlighten some of you

Poor old Mike, i think his name was, a kiwi, He vented his spleen on Picasa. When the replies started coming in it became clear that he didn't read the instructions. Isn't that just like a man? After numerous pages of posts/replies, I think he got the message. He muffed it.
I use it because I can't grasp the working of PSE8. I have it but can't understand it. Picasa for me.

Look at you destroying all that FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt). Well done. Always nice to read accurate, reasonable posts.

I've used it for about two years and I have some sympathy for the inital complaint. I think the instructions could be more clear for the neophyte. The thing that got me at first was "Picasa Originals". I understand its a good idea to identify that file with Picasa but "Your" or "My" 'Originals would have been less anxiety producing. I am still occasionally (since I use it occasionally) flummoxed by the process of finding the photos I just worked on, collecting them and uploading them. If I'd paid for the program, I'd have expected more clear instructions, stepping through various levels of experience. Bit it is free and it works well.

Over all I've gotten to know it fairly well now and, as I'm just about to start playing with RAW files, I'll be depending on Picasa for some time to come.

I thought Picnik had gone away. The upgrades to Picasa are fun.

Picnik has not disappeared entirely from my system after April 19, 2012, (I was reimbursed for the cost, however, thank you) and I still use it in conjunction with Picasa 3.9.

It is my favorite photo editor by far; its utility and power plus ease of use will surprise you.

Three months from start to finish which includes dealing with getting it retitled which took the most time. I was the only person to work on it from start to finish. I've put 18K miles on it since then. I plan to tour the northern tier of states from michigan to Seattle starting in August

Just wanted to add my support for Picasa. I have been using it for some time and am quite pleased with the results. The recent version is quite easy to use yet fairly sophisticated in what it does. Your response was right on. Thanks for making it.

A lot of you are happy with Picasa, I found it very overwhelming especially when it came to TAGGING pictures.

If I could get help from anyone here could we continue this topic in more detail? I did Google and also looked at the help file, but along comes a question where no answer is found.
Thanks
