This was shot with several diffused light sources between various objects placed between them and the model to create alternating shadows.
I like the effect but am somewhat troubled by the bright spot. I think it would be better if that were toned down slightly.

Thanks for looking Dave. The idea was to have some light but keep the overall image dark and reasonably subtle. Her hair is quite blonde so the intent was to get a splash of light on there as a highlight and raise it (hopefully) from being too flat an image

Its quite an interesting abstract...one that that I don't find particularly appealing but one that I keep looking at. The shade of her skin and the pillow(?) behind her seem to blend together - had to look to figure out what I was seeing. Think its a good job

Fun stuff, but maybe a less patterned backdrop would allow the body and the lighting to stand out a bit more.
It has an unnatural look to me that holds my attention instead of the subject.
Background seems to blur the outline of her torso.
Lighting of torso does not appear flattering.
Bright spot, agree, is a bit of a distracting.
Fascinating concept.

I'll second that thought .
May need to look at your shot on my desktop vs phone. Very different, thanks for sharing.
