On a cruise of salem harbor last week, I caught some surf on the rocks. This is my first attempt at working with layers. Critiques welcome and appreciated!

Nice improvment....Good Job
You did a great job, nice improvements.
I really like the way they turned out. Good job.
I like them. What did you end up doing with the layers?

I am not quiet sure, I isolated sections, rocks, water and spray and then adjusted the colors, grightness etc until I liked them.
for me.....finally mastering layers was integral to making changes without hurting the original layer. Once I was reasonably comfortable with that, I started messing with the "blending modes" of those layers, and a whole new skill set was achieved. Sometimes an extreme layer adjustment will actually look good when the opacity is dropped down to a very low percentage. I just finished a book by Matt Kloskowski called "The Complete Guide To Layers" ....and it helped me quite a bit.
I am watchin' his..Matt Klo.....on Scott Kelby's sight now..
