I've used LR4 for a few months and am pretty happy with its capabilities. However I encountered a problem I cannot solve. I'm simply trying to import a picture to work on. While in the "Library" section I highlight one picture and hit "Import"
At this point, all I can ever get is a dialog box titled "Import Results". It says, "Some important operations were not performed" My only other option is to "Save as" and "OK".
This happened with every picture I attempt to import. Any ideas? Thanks.
If you see the image in the library module, or any other for that matter, it is already imported. Not sure if I read your situation correctly. The reason I responded the way I did is the normal workflow is to select Import and then choose the files in the browser on the left panel. It sounded to me like you are selecting an image or thumbnail and trying to import that which is not how to import in Lightroom.

The answer to your question appears to be in your qurestion. If you see a thumbnail in the Library Modeule of LR4, then that image has already been imported into LR4.
I hope that's the problem (??)
If that's still not the issue, can you tell what kind of file it is that you are trying to import. Maybe that's a clue to the problem.
Thanks for the input. I found that when I clicked on "ADD" at the top instead of "DNG", it worked for me.
