The link is to a live blog of the proceedings, with links embedded, that explain many of the provisions in [b]plain English]/b]. Why don't people just study the information,as I will, and then start throwing daggers/diggs etc.
This is for information only. I will not respond to any further post to this chat until I have had time to review the information and I have until 2014.

a year ago, my former boss got an electronic copy of the entire bill. I waded through it back then and there are some provisions that are questionable. At some point in the future, people will question. Some are questioning now out of the rumor mill.

Most people just resent that it was shoved under the door without allowing our representatives to read it before voting for it. There were political strong-arm tactics, telling representatives that party funding would be withheld on their re-election campaigns if they didn't sign without reading. Over 60% of Americans were concerned about this, and they shoved it through anyway.

Healthcare is a critical topic for politicians. One of the 20 th Century's greatest leaders lost his last election and left office in disgrace because he did not support the healthcare program under discussion at the time. Can you name him?

Yep, I'm one of the 60%. Did you know that Stockton, Ca was declaring bankruptcy? It's kind of like our little Greece here in California. So, what will it cost me in Euro's to get a 5D Mk III?

Once the system gets rolling it will be welcomed especially by those states that have high numbers of uninsured citizens. Those states include many of the southern states where the people have been ginned up against the program. I don't think the bill goes far enough but progress is very hard on the under educated and misinformed because they exist in a fear-based world.

I think people should pay for their own costs of living in a free society. It's not society's responsibility to take care of everybody else. For they reason I oppose having to pay for someone else's healthcare and insurance.

I am no expert in the matter of health care but from what I have heard from the experts, this healthcare will bankrupt this great country. Remember, the democrats under the cover of night, behind closed and locked doors and on Christmas Eve,slammed it through when 60 percent of the people know it is a bad idea.

I don't wan't get involved in an American domestic issue but what a conundrum for America! We have a similar problem where our government rammed through an undemocratic carbon tax, without a mandate, which comes into force on Sunday, but is opposed by 70% of Australians. Guess what will happen to the government at the elections next year. The current opposition has undertaken to repeal the carbon tax if voted into power.

Puzzled, please help me, I'm all confused. For almost
a year,if not longer Obama has been telling every one
that his Obamacare wasn't a tax on the people and
then low and behold the only way that it was able to
pass, was to pass it as a TAX BILL. Aren't you as
confused as I am.

I am even more confused,LARRYR. Not to change the subject, but it has been a year or longer that Obama also said he did not know anything about "Fast and Furious." Seems to be one scandal after another with this guy!

Socialized medicine will never work in this country no matter how "legal" it is.

Every independent study by experts show it will save money, in fact the upward spike in costs has already leveled a bit.

Why is it if one person disagrees with the views of another they are " under educated and misinformed because they exist in a fear-based world"? Perhaps they ARE educated, informed and simply disagree with you. No need to resort to name calling, no matter how eloquent it sounds.
